"Pole mounted" is a framework for installing transformers on poles, which can be divided into single-pole and double-pole types.
For distribution transformers with a capacity of 30KVA or less (including 30KVA), a single-pole transformer mount is generally used. The distribution transformer, high-voltage dropout fuse, and high-voltage surge arrester are mounted on a single concrete pole, with the pole inclined 13°-15° in the opposite direction to the assembled distribution transformer.
For distribution transformers with a capacity of 50KVA to 315KVA, a double-pole transformer mount is typically used. The distribution transformer mount consists of one main pole concrete pole and another auxiliary pole. The main pole is equipped with a high-voltage dropout fuse and a high-voltage downlead, while the auxiliary pole has secondary leads. The double-pole transformer mount is more robust compared to the single-pole version.
Advantages of pole mounted installation: It requires less space, doesn't need surrounding walls or barriers, the live parts are at a greater height from the ground, making accidents less likely.
